Artist Statement

Guy C. Landgraf Jr.’s elegant and evocative paintings bring to light a substance, texture or feeling derived from the natural world. His use of color is akin to something mysteriously found or seen in foliage or a detail of nature. This abstract reference of an organic substance reminds the viewer of nature’s harmonious and visual appeal.

Landgraf studied painting at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design where he earned a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts in 2002. He currently works at the college and has a studio at his home in Wauwatosa.
